It's Socktober!

Kid President and SoulPancake have declared this month

SOCKTOBER!

They want us to help do something about the more than 600,000 people in America who are homeless each day.

We want to help!

If you are a Sunnyland supporter or student, you can donate new or gently used socks, unopened bars of soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, and toothpaste to us in room 12.

After watching the video, what is some really important information you think we should share with other people?

What statistics should we feature on our bulletin board?

Who do you want to share this with?

What do you think our goal should be? How many pairs of socks should we try to get donated?

  1. Dear fourth grade
I think that we should get 65 socks as our goal. We should encourage other people to do Socktober so that we would help others to help us with Socktober so that we can help homeless.

    1. Dear Annabella,
I agree. I think it’s a good idea to start small. Hopefully we can get a lot more than 65 socks when we end though.

    4. Well 65 is just a start Izabelle because I know now that we have probably more than 65 socks to donate. Like Kid President said We can make a difference by helping homeless and how Mr.Pahl said we can make a goal which is a good start.

  2. Dear 4th Grade,
Some important information about that video is that to help donate socks to homeless people in America. I want to tell my family and my relatives about this video so we can make a people happier with their lives. I think our goal is to donate as many socks as we can possibly can.

  3. Dear Fourth grade,
I think are goal should be to donate as many new or gently used socks, unopened bars of soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, and tubes of toothpaste as we can. It’s important that we all help our community. We are a society; we are on huge family even if we don’t know each other yet. We need each other more than anything.

    1. Dear Tori,
I think you are right about the donation post you posted.
I think that the two classes should at least get 10 of each item for the homeless.

  5. I agree with Ellis, I also think that this socktober will be amazing, but like kid president said in his video, everyone needs to be involved... including you. By donating just one pair of socks, you can make a difference in the world.

  8. Dear everybody reading this comment,
Please try to make a difference, show your class, business or even family the Socktober Kid President video and start a Sock Drive, Canned Food Drive really any drive and try to help the homeless or nearly homeless. Even just getting your family involved makes a huge difference. I believe that we can change the world, but not without you. And as Kid President says, now is the time to be awesome.
    Sincerely, Miranda

  9. Dear Mr. Pahl,
I think we should at least collect 100 pairs of socks which means that we would have to collect 200 socks to reach that goal.

    Sincerely, Tim.

  10. Dear fourth graders
I think we should help homeless people around the streets and neighborhood. I think we should donate socks and soap toothpaste and toothbrushes.

  11. We are most likely to get 100 or more socks and if we do then we’ll past our goal and if we did that would be cool and we’ll be label to give a lot of different pore people socks.

  12. Dear fourth graders,
I think Kid President is very helpful to our community. Socktober is such a smart idea for this month. I think in November he will do something even better than Socktober. Kid President is awesome! He is a good kid.
