Space Glogs

As part of the ongoing unit on Space Science, I asked students to become experts on one aspect of space. They researched their topics using texts from class and the library and from a long list of web links I provided them at the beginning of the assignment.

Here are a few examples of exceptional work by students. I am learning a lot from viewing them. We hope you do, too. (They make take a few moments to load. Don't worry; it's worth the wait.)

Please comment!
What do you think of our Space Glogs?
What was the most interesting thing you learned while doing this project?
What is something that surprised you about your topic?
What is something you want to learn more about?

  1. Your Space Glogs are fantastic. I liked the way each was organized the same way but had its own unique "feel" to the poster you made. How did you make them? M.W.

I loved viewing your space Glogs. It really amazes me that people were studying space thousands of years ago!

  4. These Glogs are amazing! They are something I could not put together and I am in college! I love all the information and videos and vibrant colors. I love the ideas of Glogs instead of using posters to display projects. Keep up the good work.

    Room 12 Students,

WOW! Your space glogs are amazing! I love how they are interactive and have lots of interesting facts on them. I also like all of the bright colors you used! How long did it take you to make them? I'm currently at WWU studying to be an elementary school teacher. When I get hired to be a teacher in a few years do you think I should have my students make a glog? Why or why not?

    Sincerely,

    Georgia from Western Washington University

    1. Dear Georgia, I think you should teach your students to make glogs when you become a teacher. Also it took me about 2 and a ½ weeks to complete my space glog about the sun. Out of these 3 glogs which one was your favorite?

    2. Dear Devin,

Thank you for your response! I think when I become a teacher I will definitely have my students make glogs. They are a great way to show information in a fun and interactive way.

WOW! It took you 2 and a half weeks to finish your glog?! I can tell you worked really hard on it. Out of the 3 glogs, I don't have a favorite. I love learning about space so it was hard to choose a favorite. I love them all!

Keep up the good work Room 12!

      Sincerely,

  10. Dear Class,
I think that you did a great job on your space glogs. They are really informative and fun to look at. I think the most interesting thing I learned while doing this project was either learning that Jupiter has 50 moons or that Jupiter has rings. Something that surprised me about my topic was that the Galilean Satellites (which are Jupiter’s 4 biggest moons) are all very different worlds. Something I want to learn more about is Jupiter’s other 46 moons. What do you want to learn more about?
    Sincerely,
    Julia

  11. Dear Devin,
I really like your space glog about the sun.
Do you think you could write more about the sun? I like the one with 2003 Halloween storm.

  12. Dear Mr. Pahl,
I think that making glogs about space can tell more kids facts about space! Like if a person dose a glog about Neptune, they lern more about space.
    Sincerely, Avery
