Rylan's Letter From the President

Earlier this year, Rylan watched the State of the Union address made by the President of the United States, Barack Obama. Rylan is really passionate about justice and equality, so he wrote a letter to President Obama imploring him to make some changes in government that would help more people. Not long ago, Rylan received a response from President Obama written on official White House stationery. Needless to say, Rylan was pretty excited, so he brought the President's letter in to share with us.

Please comment! If you wrote a letter to the President of the United States, what would you want to tell him? Is there anything you would ask him for? Are there other famous people you would like to write to? What would you want to tell them, or what would you want to know about them?

  1. Dear Rylan,

I’m writing a letter to Stephen Spielberg he’s a famous movie writer. Stephen Spielberg wrote Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones and Jaws. He made ven wrote new movies like Transformers and Monster House.
Keep writing to the president and one day you might be president or a committee.

  2. Dear Mr.Pahl,

If I was going to write a letter to the president I would ask him why he wanted to run for president in the first place. And if he knew it was going to be hard to be the president. This isn’t really about writing to the president but remember last year when we wrote a letter to famous person did you ever send those and are we going to write them again?

  3. Dear Rylan,
Congratulations about the president writing you back. I have A few questions for you. Are you excited about the president writing you back? Are you and the president going to pen pals? Are you friends with the president?

  4. Dear Rylan ,

  5. Dear Rylan,
That’s so cool but what did you Write to him? And how did he write you back when he is so busy with his work? Maybe I could write one and he would write me back!!!

  6. Hi Tami Lynn,
I think those are great questions to ask the President. I did send those letters last year. I'm sorry we never heard back from anyone. Yes, I think we should try it again. What do you think?
    Mr. Pahl

  7. Dear Mr.Pahl
Yes I do think we should write them again it was fun and people that were not in your class last year did not get to write one. And I am pretty sure once they hear we can write one to anyone in the world that is famous that they will want to write one.
