Book Trailers!

Inspired by the work of Teacher Librarian Michelle Harclerode at www.booktrailersforeaders.com, some of our students jumped right in and made their first book trailers. Here are a few of them. More to be added soon!

Book Trailer by Claire

The Paradise Trap by Catherine Jinks
Book Trailer by Gavin!

Book Trailer by Linnea!

Gregor the Overlander by Suzanne Collins
Book Trailer by Phoebe

Please comment!
Tell us what you think of our first book trailers.
Does one make you want to read the book?
Is there something we did particularly well?
Is there something we can do better next time?
Thank you!

  3. Dear Phoebe,
I absolutely love this book trailer! It makes me want to read it so bad! I think you did really well with the music and the pictures. Because I think the music really matched the theme of the book and the pictures really gave me an idea of how everything looked. Hope you can make another one!
    Sincerely,
    Karoline

  11. Dear class,

These book trailers are like people reading the book to me. Book trailer group, you did an amazing job on the book trailers. They were descriptive. They gave good information about the book. Keep it up! Sincerely, Avery

    1. Phoebe,

I know it was a challenge but I am glad you were up to it! For the first time trying something like this, I think you did a great job. Your summary of the book is really descriptive without being overly detailed. I loved the pictures of giant spiders and cockroaches! Creepy! Keep up the good thinking AND good work.

      Sincerely,
      Mr. Pahl

You are so right. It was very hard for me to find all of my pictures with all the copy right free stuff. I hope it was easier for you than it was for me.

  17. Wow....I am completely impressed by all!

In short order I shall vow to feel much better about work in the morning, as my
work is not in the jungle, with Gregor.

And continue to stick to tent camping instead of the trailer/RV park. There's some very odd characters there.

And no owls in the house. No way.

And if I only knew the name of that apartment building in New York, I would definitely try and help get the mechanical systems fixed. They need some help.

    Wow.

  19. Nice book trailers Phoebe, Linnea, Gavin and Claire! These would be very useful for a librarian (like me). We're always trying to get folks to try a new book or author. I've read the Gregor and Guardians of Ga'Hoole books, and I agree that they are exciting stories with interesting characters. I'm going to use my library card to put a hold on Paradise Trap right now. Thanks for helping promote books and reading in this new way!! --Theresa
