We Continue Learning About Salmon
Thank you Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association for your Students for Salmon program. Using your terrific curriculum, the students and I have learned a great deal. If you would like to know more about salmon and the numerous things you can do to improve salmon (and our own) habitat, visit the Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association.

Dear Mr. Pahl,
ReplyDeleteWow! Photo Peach is cool. I can move the pictures around like a magic photo gallery. I looked at many peoples Did You Know?s and salmon cutouts. I'm going to try and do Photo Peach myself.
Love,
Shark Fin
Dear Mr. Pahl,
ReplyDeleteThe salmon projects the class has been doing are great. I hope we continue learning about the salmon life cycle.

Dear Mr. Pahl,
ReplyDeleteI thought the Photo Peach project you made was really interesting to me. Do you think the class and I could make a Photo Peach on whatever we want to? How do you find all these cool sites like Glogster, Photo Peach, Spelling City and a bunch of other wonderful sites? Sort of like what Finnigan said “The Photo Peach is like a magic floating art gallery.
Until next time,
Sillyband
Dear Class,
ReplyDeleteI’ll try PhotoPeach on my Apple computer. I hope I can make something like the salmon PhotoPeach on the blog. Maybe I’ll show it to Mr. Pahl and the class.
Love,
Shark Fin
Dear Mr. Pahl,
ReplyDeleteI like all the information all of us made because there’s lots of good info on it and we worked as hard as we could. I also like the designs and colors on our salmon.
Sincerely, Firewolf
Dear Shark Fin,
ReplyDeleteI think it's great that you like Photo Peach. I can't wait to show you more about how to use it. You're going to have a lot of fun with it!
Mr. Pahl
Dear Rockstar,
ReplyDeleteI'm really happy with the projects, too. We have ALL learned a great deal about salmon and their habitat. There is so much I have learned, too! I didn't even know the 5 species of Pacific salmon, but now I do. Don't worry, we still have plenty to learn, and don't forget about the field trip!
Sincerely,
Mr. Pahl
Dear Firewolf,
ReplyDeleteI also like the designs on the salmon. I wish we had more time for art. I work it in where I can, but it would be better if we had art more frequently. I agree. You all worked very hard and included much information about salmon in these projects. Wait until we start posting the Glogs!!!

Dear Mr. Pahl and the students of Room 12,
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you left some comments on our class blog! Now I get to explore your awesome blog.
That was a great Photopeach presentation about Pacific salmon. They are truly amazing creatures! There are so many cool things about them I don't know where to start. I guess what I think is most remarkable about salmon is that they return to the very same stream they were born in.
Did you know that some other animals do almost the same thing? Sea turtles return to the same beach year after year to lay eggs - sometimes they all crawl onto the beach on the same night! Ospreys (sea hawks) also return to the same nest in the spring even after they have flown thousands of miles to the south for the winter. And eels do a crazy migration when they are ready to spawn. Does anyone know where they all go?
Great job on the facts and also on the different salmon designs.
I look forward to following your blog from now on.
